About Conference:
The wide deployment of wireless/GSM networks and mobile technologies and the significant increase in the number of mobile device users have created a very strong demand for emerging systems, platforms, applications and services based on today’s wireless/GSM network and mobile technologies. This trend has provided many new business opportunities and challenges to device vendors, mobile service providers, mobile content publishers and marketplaces, mobile technology providers and solution integrators. Living in a wireless world dramatically changes and enhances people’s life in many ways, such as communications, information sharing and learning, e-commerce and mobile application services. At the same time, businesses and government agencies are confronted with new pressure for technology update, that is, how to provide customers and users with reliable and secure mobile applications and efficient and user-friendly mobile services. The world is witnessing a revolution in mobile and computing technologies which will transform all handheld devices into small computers with multimedia, web browsing and gaming capabilities, and desktop work environments with office software, in addition to the usual telephony on mobile networks and the Internet.
The TeliaSonera Eurasia Conference on Mobile Technologies for Social Change (MTSC), which will be hosted by Azercell Telecom LLC – leading mobile operator of Azerbaijan in collaboration with Qafqaz University, comes as a response to this challenge. The Conference will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan in November, 2010. The event is part of an international initiative of Azercell Telecom on promotion of mobile technologies as platform of learning, doing business, entertainment and communication in Azerbaijan. MTSC will cover all aspects of mobile learning, mobile business, mobile society as well as the emergence of mobile technologies, services, implementation and implications for education, business, and society. MTSC is a one day event and is held under an umbrella of the parent company TeliaSonera and is supported by the online journals.
Purpose of the Conference
The TeliaSonera Eurasia Conference on Mobile Technologies for Social Change (MTSC) is a forum to bring together business people, researchers, scientists, software architects, and industry professionals to discuss innovative ideas and diverse topics on next generation of mobile technologies and services. Using this forum, researchers and practitioners can exchange issues, challenges, new business models and structures, and new technologies and solutions. The workshop aims at attracting both researchers from academic and industrial institutions and practitioners from industry.
Researchers, practitioners and distinguished speakers are invited to participate and make speeches addressing business and technical issues, challenges, solutions, and technologies in building mobile-based software systems, applications and complete solutions.

The topics of interest for MTSC include, but are not limited to, the following:

Expected Achievements
The organizers intend to achieve an overview of the current technological achievements in the area of engineering wireless-based systems and applications, and will touch upon role of mobile operators in fostering the social change through mobile technologies. Furthermore, a roadmap will be developed together with the attendees of the workshop with the goal of initiating cooperation among the attendees and identification of mobile technology perspectives.
